School Grounds advice

secondary pond dipAn important part of the BHee project is supporting schools to make the best use of their school grounds, whether concrete playgrounds with limited green space or fields and woodland.

Developing wildlife areas in your school grounds will

  • provide an outdoor classroom – a  resource to enhance teaching in all areas of the curriculum
  • involve the whole school in the planning and implementing of a school improvement project
  • contribute to the ‘green network’ in the city – allowing wildlife to travel more easily across through and around an urban area
