Monitoring and carbon saving

Monitoring your energy and water use

All schools can access the energy (gas and electricity) and water web portal, to view invoices, enter meter readings and monitor consumption via automatic data and historical meter reads. The portal has a range of reports.  Log in details are provided to all school business and premises managers and can also be provided to Eco-Schools contacts on request (contact Henry Christie on 01273 290496  or EWT@brighton-hove.gov.uk)

Carbon saving – Solar PV installations

The ‘rent a roof’ framework is still active.

The council are exploring options to increase the number of solar PV installations across schools in the city, as part of the Carbon Neutral 2030 programme.  Additionally, there is an active Solar Framework which provides an opportunity for local authority maintained schools to run a competition between solar companies for third-party solar panels to be installed on school roofs, with discounted electricity sold back.  Please get in touch with EWT@Brighton-Hove.gov.uk for further information.

Carbon saving – LED lighting

Salix loan funding is available to finance projects such as LED lighting replacement
